Im not Calm & do NOT want to carry on

The whole 'Keep Calm & Carry On' thing has exploded recently, it’s a classic design and its clear to see why it is so popular - firstly it is a beautifully simple graphic - bizarrely its very on trend for today’s graphic design subtlety, considering it was created in 1939 - however this simply adds to its endearing nature - it represents our own history and a certain British stiff upper lipness that is becoming ever more diluted - it allows people to feel British without any stigma.

I really like the design a lot (as do many people) however I have become a little bored with all the offshoots - 'keep calm and have a glass of wine' - 'keep calm and be o so very well to do' you get the picture. All anyone has done is change the wording slightly and that’s it - not overly creative in my view.

So - I thought I would try a new angle on this very British design - a kind of modern day version of the poster that appeals to todays public, who are themselves facing testing times albeit in a very different way. Therefore I have created a new poster range that follows a similar design principle, but turning it completely on its head, firstly in terms of colour and more importantly the message - in addition I have created an avatar that represents the ethos of the words, and positioned it in place of the crown - think muse, rage against the machine, that whole anti-establishment thing...

Below are the first 2 designs and I am going to be working on 4 more - I would be very interested to know what you thought of them - contact us or use the comments board below to let me know what you think...
