On Aug 27th 2011 during the Billabong Pro waiting period is what many are calling the biggest and gnarliest Teahupoo ever ridden - prepare to be mesmorised...

Teahupoʻo, for those of you who dont know is a tiny village on the south-west coast of Tahiti that would be forgotten to the world - excpet for one thing - on its doorstep sits the heaviest, gnarliest and most beautiful wave on the planet

On this momentus day, we can all thank surf movie maker Chris Bryan who was fortunate enough to be there working for Billabong on a day that will go down in the history of surfing.

So monstorous was the swell, that the French Navy labeled this day a double code red prohibiting and threatening to arrest anyone that entered the water.

11 x world champ Kelly Slater described the day by saying "witnessing this was a draining feeling being terrified for other people's lives all day long, it's life or death. Letting go of that rope one time can change your life and not many people will ever experience that in their life."

No need to write anything else, just prepare to be intoxicated by the beauty and awesome power of mother nature set to the gorgeous 'Lower Your Eyelids to Die with the Sun' by M83 - this is beauty for your eyes, your ears and your soul...
